From Blogger to Maker: My Crafting Journey
Hi! My name is Jennifer Morrisey, and I am the maker at FLXSoaps.
For a decade, I have shared tales from our farm at Home in the Finger Lakes. While I've always cherished sharing tales and memories of the Finger Lakes through words and images, I yearned to craft something tangible, a physical embodiment of this enchanting region that you could hold, touch, and feel.
Through FLX Soap., I hope to share a slice of our world with you. It's more than just a business for me; it's an extension of who I am, where I come from, and the values I hold dear. And in every bar, you'll find a piece of my heart, and the soul of the Finger Lakes.
Morrisey Farms
Nestled in the rolling drumlins of Palmyra in Upstate New York, is our small family farm where we raise black Angus beef cattle, and grow sweet corn, market vegetables, and field crops. The farm has been the backdrop to our family's stories for 66 years and counting.
- Our Mission
Living and working on this farm is not just a profession; it's a privilege. With every sunrise that we witness from our porch, we are reminded of those worked the land before us, and we envision the future ones who will continue the legacy. The soil beneath our feet tells tales of the past 66 years – of love, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to the land and the community.
- Our Vision
The spirit of FLX Soap Co. truly springs from a desire to make the most of every resource provided to us. We began crafting small batches of soap using tallow from our very own farm-raised cattle to ensure that every part of the cow is utilized, turning what was once discarded into something beautiful and nourishing for the skin.
