From Blogger to Soap Artisan: My Crafting Journey
My name is Jennifer Morrisey, and I am the owner of FLX Farmhouse Soaps.
For a decade, many of you have journeyed with me on Home in the Finger Lakes, where I've shared tales of our farm, our joys, our challenges, and our milestones. While I've always cherished sharing tales and memories of the Finger Lakes through words and images, I yearned to craft something tangible, a physical embodiment of this enchanting region that you could hold, touch, and feel.
Through FLX Soap., I hope to share a slice of our world with you. It's more than just a business for me; it's an extension of who I am, where I come from, and the values I hold dear. And in every bar, you'll find a piece of my heart, and the soul of the Finger Lakes.

- The Finger Lakes RegionMy goal is to offer an affordable soap and fragrance line that captures the seasons, memories, and nostalgia of the Finger Lakes Region.
Nestled in the rolling drumlins of Palmyra inUpstate New York, is our small family farm where we raise black Angus beef cattle, and grow sweet corn, market vegetables, and field crops. The farm has been the backdrop to our family's stories for 66 years and counting.
- Our Mission
Living and working on this farm is not just a profession; it's a privilege. With every sunrise that we witness from our porch, we are reminded of those worked the land before us, and we envision the future ones who will continue the legacy. The soil beneath our feet tells tales of the past 66 years – of love, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to the land and the community.
- Our Vision
The spirit of FLX Soap Co. truly springs from a desire to make the most of every resource provided to us. We began crafting small batches of soap using tallow from our very own farm-raised cattle to ensure that every part of the cow is utilized, turning what was once discarded into something beautiful and nourishing for the skin.
As someone with sensitive skin, finding the right soap has always been a challenge. But ever since I discovered this natural, handcrafted soaps, my skin has never been happier. No irritation, just pure, gentle cleansing. Plus, the customer service is top-notch – very friendly and helpful!"
"I recently bought the lavender soap at the Sodus Harvest Fest, and I'm in love! The scent is calming and not overpowering, and my skin feels so soft and nourished. It's clear that there's a lot of care and quality in each bar. Can't wait to try more scents"!
I bought Lavender Sage Soap as a gift for my mother, and she absolutely adored it! She keeps asking when I'll get her more. The packaging was beautiful, and each soap had its own unique, delightful fragrance. It's clear that a lot of thought and love goes into making these products.
